• March 16th, 2013 Temple Dedication Cultural Event in Tegucigalpa, Honduras: “In this trip to Honduras, I happened to be in the company of David Christensen. President Christensen served as a Mission President in Santiago Chile as well as the MTC President in Guatemala. As we were walking around the cultural event, I noticed that former missionary after former missionary came up to him giving him a hug, and saying hello. These were missionaries that served under him when he was President. I was touched watching this happen in front of me because it brought me back to how I felt about my President, Albert Farnsworth. The love and admiration that a missionary has for their mission president is an eternal one. I wanted to capture these moments in a photo, and I lucked out with this one.” Clinton Brown
  • March 16th -17th, 2013 in Tegucigalpa, Honduras: “President Deiter Uchtdorf and Elder Jeffrey R. Holland came to Tegucigalpa to dedicate the new Temple that was built high on a hilltop for the entire city to see. The youth of Honduras knew of this visit since June of 2012 and began preparing a cultural event for them. On Saturday night, the event was a class act, with uniforms, costumes and outfits looking incredible, and the youth full of energy. The crowd was doing the wave, chanting “HONDURAS!”, blowing on horns, and cheering at every turn for their youth. The local baseball stadium was full with 9,000 in attendance and another 3,000 youth, it felt like a soccer game! When the General Authorities arrived, they all stood up and cheered for them. As the General Authorities waved, the entire crowd waved back. Every eye was on those General Authorities. President Uchtdorf spoke to them, and mentioned that “President Monson sends you his love!” after which the entire crowd exploded with cheer and emotion! At the end of the event, as President Uchtdorf and Elder Holland left, the youth of Honduras were staring at them, waving, and crying. They were so happy to have been in the presence of prophets. The following day, after the Temple was dedicated, the Honduran people formed a 200 yard line from the doors of the Temple to the building that the General Authorities were staying in. One by one, the brethren shook hands with each of those Hondurans, whose lives became overcome with joy and some were brought to immediate tears at just the touch of a man of God!.” Clinton Brown
  • March 17, 2013 Temple Dedication, Tegucigalpa, Honduras: “After an incredible discourse from Elder Jeffrey R. Holland about the comparison of temple goers being vicarious Saviors on the Mount just as Christ was our Savior, he took his glasses off. Up to this point, his entire talk had been in English, and was translated by a wonderful Honduran brother. After he took his glasses off, he looked straight into everyone’s eyes it seemed: those that were in the room with him, as well as those watching it in other rooms in the Temple. I imagine that even those Honduran Saints that were watching it via satellite in Stake Centers across the nation felt the same thing I did: An immediate penetrating feeling of the Spirit. Right at that moment, Elder Holland bore the most pure testimony in spanish, bringing a rush of feelings and promptings that this Church, and its work, were true!” Clinton Brown
