- Alma 12: 24…This life is a probationary state, a time to prepare to meet God, a time to prepare for the endless state (immortality)
- “God’s purpose can best be expressed in [this verse]. In the expansiveness of space, there is stunning personalness, for God knows and loves each of us. We are not ciphers in unexplained space. Remember the Psalmist’s query, ‘What is man that thou art mindful of him?’ [] yet mankind is at the very center of God’s work. We are the sheep of His hand and the people of His pasture. His work includes our immortalization – accomplished by Christ’s glorious atonement. Think of it, brothers and sisters, even with their extensive longevity, stars are not immortal. But we are.” (Neal A. Maxwell, Church News, 17 Aug. 2002, 3)
- D&C 75:5… And thus, if ye are faithful ye shall be laden with many sheaves and crowned with honor, and glory, and immortality, and eternal life.
- Enos 1: 27… And I soon go to the place of my rest, which is with my Redeemer; for I know that in him I shall rest. And I rejoice in the day when my mortal shall put on immortality, and shall stand before him; then shall I see his face with pleasure, and he will say unto me: Come unto me, ye blessed, there is a place prepared for you in the mansions of my Father. Amen.
- Alma 11:44…This condition is called immortality. All people who have ever lived will be resurrected, “both old and young, both bond and free, both male and female, both the wicked and the righteous”.
- Dan. 12:2…Sleep in the dust … shall awake, some to everlasting life.
- “The priesthood is the power and authority of God. It has always existed and will continue to exist without end (see Alma 13:7-8, Doctrine and Covenants 84:17-18). Through the priesthood, God created and governs the heavens and the earth. Through this power, He exalts His obedient children, bringing to pass the immortality and eternal life of man (Moses 1:39; see also Doctrine and Covenants 84:35-38).” Manual Handbook 2: Administering the Church, Priesthood Principles
