• “A major reason for procrastination and lack of motivation is vagueness, confusion, and fuzzy-mindedness about what you are trying to do and in what order and for what reason.” Eat That Frog, Brian Tracy, Page 9
  • “The world is full of people who are waiting for someone to come along and motivate them to be the kind of people they wish they could be. The problem is that no one is coming to the rescue. These people are waiting for a bus on a street where no buses pass. If they don’t take charge of their lives and put the pressure on themselves, they can end up waiting forever. And that is what most people do. Only about 2 percent of people can work entirely without supervision. We call these people “leaders.” This is the kind of person you are meant to be and that you can be if you decide to be.” Eat That Frog, Brian Tracy, Page 76
  • “Your level of self-esteem, how much you like and respect yourself, is central to your levels of motivation and persistence. You should talk to yourself positively all the time to boost your self-esteem. Say things like “I like myself! I like myself!” over and over until you begin to believe it and behave like a person with high-performance personality.” Eat That Frog, Brian Tracy, Page 86
  • “To keep yourself motivated and to overcome feelings of doubt or fear, continually tell yourself, ‘I can do it! I can do it!’ When people ask you how you are, always tell them, ‘I feel terrific!’” Eat That Frog, Brian Tracy, Page 86
  • “Vision guides us. It inspires. It leads, even through those tough times when our own personal maps can get jumbled. We have often heard successful people say that when they went through their toughest times, out of money, out of ideas, and out of luck, it was their vision for the future that pulled them through. They stayed true to their vision, and the vision sustained them.” Beating the Midas Curse, by Perry L. Cochell and Rodney C. Zeeb, Page 105

  • “The master nodded. “To hear the unheard,” he said, “is a necessary discipline to be a good ruler. For only when a ruler has learned to listen closely to the people’s hearts, hearing their feelings uncommunicative, pains unexpressed, and complaints not spoken of, can he hope to inspire confidence in the people, understand when something is wrong, and meet the true needs of his citizens.”” Eleven Rings: The Soul of Success. Phil Jackson and Hugh Delehanty. Kindle Loc. 1359-62
  • December 19, 1995 – Tuesday – Quito Ecuador… “I then spoke with President Farnsworth about the situation that we have in Santa Ana, how much Satan is working, and how we aren’t sure who has the blame, if we’re doing something wrong, etc.  President said a lot of nice things to me.  He told me that there hasn’t been on Z.L. who has had success there because Satan works so hard and the members don’t support.  He told me that this is why I was there, to beat Satan.  He told me that Satan was going to work even harder, and that as we keep doing our part we’ll beat him.  President always knows how to hype me up.” – Clinton Brown Missionary Journal
  • December 28, 1995 – Thursday – Quito Ecuador… “A lot of appointments dogged us today.  Satan was trying to deanimarnos (discourage us).  But he can’t.  THis morning we had Zone Study.  Our Zone is sweet.  We have a lot of fun together.  Elder Herrera and I walked all over the place today.  We had 3 charlas.  Yesterday we had 6.  Yesterday, during the Joseph Smith principle at the Bustamante’s house, the Spirit was so strong. It was in  my whole body testifying that Joseph Smith is a true prophet.  I have no doubt of that!!! We committed Marcelo Sifuentes and Mirian Zambrano to be baptized on the 7th of January.  They’re neat people, and will be baptized.  I love this work.  At times I’m so tired, or want to give up, but no way.  It’s like the 4th Quarter.  Bear down and get ‘em.  Before the mission I was worried because I had no excitement for the church.  It was all Sports!  I could get hyped up for Sports but not church.  I prayed a lot during high school that the Lord would convert my excitement for Sports to excitement to Spread the Gospel.  I tell you what, the Lord has answered my prayers.  My adrenaline gets flowing to leave the house, hunt down the chosen, teach with the Spirit, and help people progress.  I love it when the other team – Satan – tries to impede us or beat us.  I get pumped to find out how to beat him.” – Clinton Brown Missionary Journal
