  • “I had seen a vision; I knew it, and I knew that God knew it, and I could not deny it, neither dared I do it; at least I knew that by so doing I would offend God, and come under condemnation.” ( JS—H 1:25.) 20  Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Ezra Taft Benson, (2014), 102–13
  • January 14th, 1995 – Saturday.  Quito Ecuador – Jeffrey R. Holland Conference… “He said the missionaries and the General Authorities are the only ones that can preach the gospel 24 hours a day, and be a witness of Jesus Christ. I realized how powerful we can be, and the importance of our calling to Bring Souls to Christ.  By way of his words, I know he has seen Jesus Christ.  I know Jesus Christ lives and directs this work.  It’s wonderful to think of the love that Jesus and God has for us.  Without missionaries, God’s work could not continue.  He needs us to be instrumented.”  – Clinton Brown Missionary Journal
  • 3 Nephi 26:5… And he had hoped to shake me from the faith, notwithstanding the many revelations and the many things which I had seen concerning these things; for I truly had seen angels, and they had ministered unto me. And also, I had heard the voice of the Lord speaking unto me in very word, from time to time; wherefore, I could not be shaken.
  • Parley P. Pratt spoke of the Book of Mormon as the principal means in directing the entire course of his life. In describing his first reading of the book he said: “I opened it with eagerness, and read its title page. I then read the testimony of several witnesses in relation to the manner of its being found and translated. After this, I commenced its contents by course. I read all day; eating was a burden, I had no desire for food; sleep was a burden when the night came, for I preferred reading to sleep. “As I read, the spirit of the Lord was upon me, and I knew and comprehended that the book was true” (Autobiography of Parley P. Pratt, p. 20).
  • 2 Nephi 11:3… And my brother, Jacob, also has seen him as I have seen him; wherefore, I will send their words forth unto my children to prove unto them that my words are true. Wherefore, by the words of three, God hath said, I will establish my word. Nevertheless, God sendeth more witnesses, and he proveth all his words
  • “The risen Lord spoke to Mary, and she replied. He was not an apparition. This was not imagination. He was real, as real as He had been in mortal life. He did not permit her to touch Him. He had not yet ascended to His Father in Heaven. That would happen shortly. What a reunion it must have been, to be embraced by the Father, who loved Him and who also must have wept for Him during His hours of agony. He would appear to two men on the road to Emmaus. He would converse with them and eat with them. He would meet with His Apostles behind closed doors and teach them. Thomas was not present on the first occasion. On the second occasion, the Lord invited him to feel of His hands and His side. In utter wonder he exclaimed: My Lord and my God (John 20:28). He spoke with 500 at [another] time. And there is another witness. This biblical companion, the Book of Mormon, testifies that He appeared not only to those of the Old World but also to those of the New. For had He not at one time declared, Other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd? (John 10:16).” Manual, Teachings of the President of the Church: Gordon B Hinkley, Chapter 8, We Look to Christ
