- Psalms 24:3-5…Those that can enter the Temple (clean hands and a pure heart). Not lifted up to vanity, nor sworn deceitfully
- Mormon 9:29…Don’t partake of the Sacrament unworthily
- Helaman 5:20-52…Nephi and Lehi go to the Land of Nephi to preach to the Lamanites. They are thrown in prison, left to starve, and after a few days are about to be slain when they are surrounded by fire. Astonished, the Lamanites there witnessed this, heard three times a voice from heaven, and saw Nephi and Lehi speaking to the heavens. Aminadab, a baptized member that dissented from the church, was the one that explained to everyone what was happening and followed the promptings of the spirit to do so. 300 people were converted because of these miracles and Aminadab’s explanations. Those 300 then shared the gospel with others.
- “We cannot foresee what the Lord has in mind for us. Our only course of action is to be prepared and worthy for whatever he requires. We must govern our actions every day with our future in mind.” (M. Russell Ballard, Ensign, Nov. 1990, 35-36)
- “Achieving spiritual sanctification matters so much more than cosmic quantifications.” (Neal A. Maxwell, Church News, 17 Aug. 2002, 3)
- December 20, 1995 – Wednesday – Quito Ecuador… “Wow. Great day. We taught 8 second charlas today and we committed 4 to be baptized. We’re going to commit the other 4 ya mismo. I’m really seeing the positive side of things. When Satan does something, or something fails, I can recognize it, think, and do the best of the situation. Many times the citas are stood up, so we think of another option – nada, and then another – nada – but we always find someone in the road, or by their house so that we make contact, or take out the referral. The Lord really does guide us to do the things that he wants us to do. I know this is His work, and no one elses. I love being here. It’s so important to be worthy of the Spirit. If not – no success.” – Clinton Brown Missionary Journal
